I’m very grateful to be part of this project, with all its different angles and nuances. On a smaller scale, it’s a mirror of our society where Nature takes back her natural role.
We are all reflecting on our interactions, ways of creations, listening and interacting within and with Nature, who becomes a fellow adventurer. Discovering new people, feeling new places, and developing an awareness of new vibrations. It is a playground where we are able to express ourselves in all the beauty and variety of our differences
I personally joined Echo Of the Ancient on the Finnish side of the project in October 2025 thanks to my dear friend Martine who, as usual, could foresee and feel connection between vibrant organisms. We explored beautiful sites near Heinävesi and started to interact with them. Right away I had the confirmation that Nature is one of the most important characters of the project. Nature meant also as an evolution of the places along the timeline that connects us to ancient civilisations who walked these very lands many centuries before us.
When granted the possibility to create in such a vibrant context, I felt as if I were interplaying with a long-time friend. Safe, confident, and free to express myself, I had no fears. I felt a joy in pushing the boundaries of the unknown a bit further each time, allowing myself to explore inner and outer spaces like a child immersed in the playful wonder of discovery. It’s in that very context that my musical instrument would change its shape, its density, evolving its aim, and joining Nature for a while.

Marcello Giannandrea: I am an Italian bassoonist based in Brussels, trained in both modern and baroque traditions. Through teaching, I invite others to encounter sound as a living presence. My experience spans different genres: alongside classical and baroque music, I work in free improvisation and jazz ensembles, letting these worlds merge into something unique.
